Rock stars

This past weekend was awesome! I watched Catch and Release, surprisingly it was much better than I had anticipated. There were some things in there that I didn't buy, but whatever, it's a movie. On Saturday, it was karaoke time! I had a great time, there were so many songs that I didn't get a chance to sing but I am so going to do it again. When we first got there, the room was freezing and I asked if the heat could be turned on. Those who know me, should know that I get hot really easily so it must have been that cold to bother me. Within the hour, the room became like a sauna!

We all sang a good mixture of music. Any type, someone did it. Of course, whenever there was a song that no one knew, we'd know it was something Zach picked out. At times, there were weird songs that popped up and no one would fess up to it. Sure, someone could have typed in the wrong number but I doubt it happened that many times. Some of the songs came with videos, I swear so many of them were like soft porn - it was hard to pay attention to the words!

M and I were stoked to rock out to Rick Astley (good old RU days), but only to find out that we only knew the chorus and couldn't do the whole song justice. Jokingly, Steph and I picked Hanson but then we also realized that we didn't remember that song at all (thank goodness). Watching Wey rap was awesome! Oh, they also supplied us with tambourines too, I had wanted the one that was fishy shaped but they had cameras in there so it had to stay. In between songs, the machine would automatically hit us with a Korean commercial and song. We made up some Korean: skip-la meant to skip it. I definitely wanted to bring in the old school, you can't go wrong with Montell Jordan. Apparently, Rich had the same idea and he added the song in as well. I can't remember the songs but it was hilarious when we all belted it together. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a while. There were quite a few stragglers that came late, so they still owe me.

We had Korean food for dinner. Sense a theme going on here? It took a while because the restaurant was so busy and they were having issues trying to find seating for 11. I was trying to spell my name to the hostess when she busted out Mandarin and asked if I spoke it. I responded yes, but that even if I spoke Mandarin, it wouldn't change how I would spell out my name. After dinner, I took them to Pinkberry and got some new fellow lovers as well.

I don't know if it was something in the air but there were a bunch of "drunken" Korean chicks that night. At the restaurant, while we were waiting, both Bach and I saw this nicely dressed woman slip. She tried to play it off but we totally saw. A bit later, the same woman completely trips and falls on her butt. Then at Pinkberry, this girl completely falls back and whacks into the table.

We were too into the singing and didn't get to take many pictures or the videos that I had originally wanted. There are some funny ones but I'm censoring them - I don't want anyone to be embarrassed or upset!

Kevin and I dueting to either "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" or "Inside of You". Stephanie belting out her difficult slow songs.

Emmy and Wey dueting, I think to Death Cab for Cutie. Zach and Rich busting out.

I took Cinnamon to the groomers today for a much needed haircut. Besides, Chinese New Year is coming up and you're supposed to get one before then. They gave him a Vday bandana, so cute. You can see how happy he was to be at home, look at that tail whipping

I actually made a list of all the songs I did, and remembered a full 25 so far, including the duets. That just doesn't seem like enough, really.

Actually, make that 28ish. I had forgotten about Beautiful Day, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, and the Beach Boys songs Stephanie made me sing with her. Maybe I did hijack this thing a bit.
