First delayed school opening

I was a good girl and went to school on time, even though it was a delayed opening. It's funny, I didn't realize it until Kevin mentioned it but for most of you guys, you no longer get delayed openings like me!

There were no cars in the parking lot except for the head custodian. It actually was kind of cool and creepy to be in the empty dark school. I ran into him in the hallway and he was like, "You do realize that it's a delayed opening? Right?" I just explained to him that I was already up and ready, and needed to do some work.

It was nice, I had my laptop running, music playing, and I got a lot of work graded. Not to mention it was so awesome not having to wait in line for the photocopier or feeling the stress of watching a line form behind you.

However, once my kiddies started sloshing in, that was a completely different story. It was such a crazy day, trying to salvage what was left of the day for lessons. In that aspect, I must say that I do not like the delayed openings. Since I got there early, I didn't need to stay after school as long because I had already prepped for tomorrow. Oh, I did get a very nice compliment from one of ths AS teachers. She told me that I've been doing a great job and that she could tell by how comfortable the students are around me. Then a few of the girls eavesdropping look at me and go, "Yeah, you really have!" - which then brought on the hug attacks.

I went to Target on the way home to pick up some last minute stuff. You'll never guess what I bought? It's pretty silly considering the current weather conditions. I actually got 2 pairs of flip flops! They were really cute. The cashier gave me the oddest look and I showed her what size my feet are and she understood.
