Flipping sweet!
I went to an authentic Greek restaurant for the first time this weekend. It was pretty good but it wasn't like amazing. Originally, we were going to go to a Caribbean restaurant but somehow Jess was mistaken and it was actually an African/American restaurant. Don't ask how, I don't know how she got it confused. We still felt that we wanted something new, so Jess, Lyd, and I decided to check out a bunch of local restaurants. The first place we went to see was Pithari Taverna. The place looked new and it had this cute outdoor patio, too bad it was way too cold to eat outside. We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try since it looked so authentic. There was some waiting time because we didn't make reservations. I ended up chatting up with this guy and asked for suggestions on what to order, since many of the items on the menu didn't come with descriptions. We ended up getting so much food to share - calamari (the pieces were ginormous), cold spread appetizers with warm pita bread (delicious), pork souvlaki, moussaka, and spanakopeta. There was a large group of people sitting behind us, every time one of them dropped something, they would yell "Opah!" It was a little too My Big Fat Greek Wedding, even our waitress was named Toula!
On Saturday night, Kevin and I were at one of our Italian restaurants. I had stuffed myself silly from the soup and appetizer so I couldn't finish all of my seafood risotto. Normally, I would pick out all the seafood, because I believe in "eating where the money is." I figured Jeff would want it so I saved it for him. Now, I always joke about what would really happen if they threw out your food by accident. I mean, technically you did pay for the entire dish, so you should be able to have it all. Could you actually demand them to remake your portion? So the waiter comes to us, and Kevin says, "Could you please pack these two to go? And the check too?" The waiter grabs the plates and responds with, "Just the check?" We nod and off he goes. We wait and wait, out comes the check only. Even the table behind us had their food packed up. There went our food! No sense in arguing with someone who obviously didn't understand us. That's what I get for making jokes about things like that.
Shrek 3 was cute and had its funny moments. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who still hasn't seen it and wants to. The gingerbread man did do something funny though! I still think Shrek 2 is my favorite though.
My aunt 1 in HK finally found a bling ring in my size and sent it here. My uncle 6 had tried looking when he was visiting there but returned home empty handed. The ring band is the coolest thing that I have ever seen! When I first put it on, I was wondering why the bands were separate and kind of flimsy. As I took it off, I realized that the bands could be flipped over to reveal the other side of where the gemstone was! So you get two rings in one! Fun!
One way to wear it......
then you flip the bands around and you've got the other side!

Yeah, I didn't think SHrek 3 was as good as the first two. Still decent, but there were definite signs of them running out of ideas there.
Hola chica,
