31 cents

A few days ago, I was in the Asian supermarket picking up some weekly groceries. Once again, I picked the wrong line to be in for the checkout. The lady ahead of me only had a bag of tomatoes, 5 tomatoes to be exact. The total was $2.31 and apparently all she had on her was $2, nothing else. First of all, who goes into a supermarket with the intent to purchase items but only carries $2? So she decides that she'll only take 4 tomatoes and asks the cashier to remove one. Now the total was less than $2 and I thought I was in the homestretch. The woman has this puzzled look on her face, well apparently she didn't like the weight amount of "those" 4 tomatoes and wants more. She then asks the cashier to put back the tomato and remove a different one. This whole experiment of "which four out of the five tomatoes weighs the most for under $2" lasted for what I felt was eternity. Okay, that's a total exaggeration but I literally had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming and that this tomato swap was in fact happening. In all honesty, normally the cashiers there are pretty nasty so I was shocked to see her willing to participate. I had to fight the urge to just give the lady the freaking 31 cents so that she would leave already!

New beginnings

This has been one crazy weekend, but absolutely fun and beautiful! On Friday night, we all had the rehearsal dinner. Which I now have learned, is not actually a "rehearsal" to eat dinner! I have such issues with walking slowly without looking like a weirdo so apparently I had bolted down the aisle.

Saturday was the 1st wedding of our friends! Congratulations Jasmine & Paul! Granted it started off a little crazy but I think that everything worked out in the end. The best thing about girls is that we'll all help each other get ready and keep a check to make sure you look alright. Although I went with Jasmine to all her fittings, it was so amazing to see her in the dress and all her accessories! When I was helping her get into her dress, part of me was a little sad because that would be the last time that I would have to help her do that. Everyone looked gorgeous, the ladies and the men! Granted that the dresses weren't the most comfortable but heck, it pays to look good, haha. We went off to Monmouth U for more pictures. While Jasmine and Paul were off taking their pics, the rest of us just wandered around. Once the time was up, it was church time. I was too nervous about trying to not bolt nor trip, that I ended up having a death grip on the bouquet and probably looked very serious. (I was just telling myself: don't trip, don't trip) Ooh though, I got to wear the ring for a bit. The ceremony was perfect, not too short or too long and their vows were very sweet. Afterwards, we went to the reception which was sooo nice! We had a private room upstairs which was really good because we got a chance to take off our shoes and sit comfortably (which meant unattractively)! Also, the issue of using the bathroom meant you needed more than one girl. After the cocktail hour was up, it was time to be announced. I was nervous about that too, mainly that I would put the bouquet in the right place and find the right table. While waiting to get called, I tried sneaking a peek inside the room. Once we got into the room, it was beautiful, it was exactly what I had pictured Jasmine wanting. I had already seen the centerpieces in advance but I knew she wanted this enchanted forest feel to it, and that was exactly the vibe I got!

The wedding and reception was beautiful and I know that everyone had a wonderful time! It has been a honor and pleasure in taking part in Jasmine's fairy tale!

I love the pic on the left of Jasmine in the shuttle! She looks like a princess sitting in all her poofy-ness!

The ladies showing off their shoes!

Shana's Valenta pose & her making out with the Head

Emmy & I with our Valenta poses - It's funny, now we all finally know why the models are in these positions! It's actually more comfortable that way.

The boys jumping off the ledge! The girls holding onto each other's sashes.

Oh the happiness doesn't just finish with the wedding! When I got home on Sunday, I found out that Christina gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Ian! I had my money on Christina having the baby on Jasmine's wedding. So congratulations to Chris & Christina!

Brain toys

Oooh wee, I don't know who's more excited to see the toys that came in today! I realized that Cinn really loved the egg babies, so I figured he'd get a kick out of the squirrel toy. These toys are awesome because they can keep him occupied for a while. Plus, it's always hilarious watching him trying to dig them out or when he has his whole face shoved inside the hole. Let's just hope that the little squirrel plushies don't condition him to chase after real squirrels. (Though I'm pretty sure he won't since he can be such a wussy when there isn't a door in between him and the object)

I couldn't help but share this pic! I love his hair, all swept to the side. He's still stylin' even as he sleeps. I swear I didn't do that to him. I looked over and there he was all passed out.

Pet rules

I came across this list of pet rules that I thought was pretty amusing. The ones I bolded definitely apply to Cinnamon. Of course I'd be able to think up of tons on my own.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king-sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years--canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

I swear, I didn't know!

A few nights ago, Jess and I decided to see if there was anything we could rent from Blockbuster. Once again, things I wanted to see, she already saw, and vice versa. There was a movie that caught our eye but there weren't any copies left. We were both in the mood for a romantic comedy and that's exactly what the heading was on the movie. Plus, at quick glance, the cover showed a bride & groom with what we were assuming were the best man and maid of honor. We saw that there was some "secret" hand holding across the couples so we figured the movie was about how the bride was actually in love with the best man. We go to the counter and ask if anyone returned this movie, Imagine Me & You, and someone did so we secured a copy. Uhm yeah, during the car ride I finally decide to really check out what this movie was about. I stare at the cover and realize that it's the bride holding the woman's hand! Then I read the summary on the back and realize that it's a love story about choosing between your husband and the woman you love. Haha, my mistake. Talk about mistaken love. I was excited to see Giles from Buffy playing the dad, but he looks so weird without the glasses. The movie was alright, it had quite a few funny lines. In my opinion though, Kissing Jessica Stein, was a much better "coming out" movie.

Close encounter

I almost got squished and made into a car sandwich today.

I was coming out of the supermarket and was walking back to my car in the parking lot. Keep in mind that this is a big parking lot so there's a lot of space to work with. I was walking on the right side and I saw that a car was backing out on the left side. I move in even closer to the right side, literally on top of the backs of all the cars. I notice that the car is backing out really far (much more than any human needs) so I decide to stop walking and wait for them to finish. By the time I realize it, a bit late, I see that the car is a few inches from crushing me between the cars! I quickly banged on their trunk and they stopped, while giving me the death glare. I was too freaked out to do or say anything but the woman behind me saw everything and quickly grilled their ass for me. I know I've been a bit out of it, alert me would've jumped back or something. I guess it was one of those "deer in headlights" moments when you see something coming but you can't do anything about it. Regardless, I still do not understand why someone would feel the need to back out that freaking much when they have all the room in the world.
